Goal: require a password for shop, cart, checkout and all products, while the rest of your site stays public.
Use this for: a wholesale or trade store, a members-only shop, a store not ready to launch.
Steps
- Go to Password Protected → WooCommerce Protection.
- Under Global Protection, enter a password in the store password field.
- Turn on Protect Entire Store.
- Turn on Force protected products unpurchasable — see below for why.
- Click Save settings.
Why turn on “Force products unpurchasable”
Without it, a protected product can still be added to the cart through routes that never load the product page:
- Related products and cross-sells
shortcodes and product blocks- Direct add-to-cart links
Turning it on blocks add-to-cart until the visitor enters the password, closing that gap.
What visitors see
Any WooCommerce page asks for the password. Your blog, home page and other content stay public.
