Goal: replace the default wording with something in your own voice.
Steps
- Go to Password Protected → Settings → Messages.
- Incorrect password message — replaces “Incorrect password. Please try again.”
- Lockout message — replaces “Too many failed attempts. Please try again in {minutes} minutes.”
- Click Save settings.
Using the {minutes} placeholder
In the lockout message, {minutes} is replaced with the actual remaining wait:
Too many attempts. Please wait {minutes} minutes, or email su*****@*****le.com.
Leave either field blank to keep the built-in wording.
Both fields are at Settings → Messages and both are optional. Leave them blank to use the built-in wording.
| Setting | Default wording |
|---|---|
| Incorrect password message | “Incorrect password. Please try again.” |
| Lockout message | “Too many failed attempts. Please try again in {minutes} minutes.” |
The lockout message supports a {minutes} placeholder, replaced with the actual remaining wait time.
