Goal: make the password screen look like your site instead of a generic form.
Steps
- Go to Password Protected → Settings and set Password form layout to Customized. Save.
- Go to Password Protected → Appearance.
- Work through the sections:
Logo
- Set Logo URL from your media library
- Choose Logo Alignment and optionally width and height
Background and card
- Background Type — colour or image
- Background color or Background image URL
- Card background — the panel behind the form
- Primary color — buttons and focus highlights
Text
- Form title — e.g. “Members Area”
- Form description — one line explaining what this is
- Submit button text — e.g. “Enter”
- Text below the form — see below
- Click Save appearance.
- Check the result in a private window.
Always fill in “Text below the form”
This is the most valuable field on the screen and the one most people skip. A visitor who does not have the password otherwise hits a dead end.
Put something actionable there:

If styling looks wrong
Go to Settings → Theme Assets on Password Protected Form:
- Default loads only what the form needs — use this if your theme is interfering.
- Include Theme Styles/Scripts loads your theme’s CSS so the form inherits its look.
